In addition to Sunday services and our children/youth ministry:
We provide the following groups:
Handicrafters: Group of 10 – 15 members of our parish that meet once a week and participate in making crafts and provide craft sales throughout
Welcoming Committee: Made up of members that greet parishioners at the front doors for the 10:00 a.m. service and welcome newcomers.
Coffee: Parishioners sign up throughout the year to make coffee to be served after the 10:00 a.m. service each Sunday. This is an important part of fellowship.
Pastoral Care Team: This group visits members that are in personal care homes, assisted living facilities and those who are ill and unable to attend church.
Keeping in touch group: This group sends get-well cards and greeting cards to members that might be in the hospital, home –ill, have an injury or might just need to receive a card from members of their parish.
Catering: We have a great group of individuals from the parish that organize, plan and provide a catering service to individuals that have a funeral at our parish. They charge a minimal amount to help cover the costs.
Ministry and Outreach: We welcome others to join us along with our present members to engage in outreach projects and also to organize events in the church that build up community.
Bible Study: Meet every Tuesday morning (except July and August) to discus the Bible from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Men’s Club: this group meet once a month on the first Wednesday at a local legion for breakfast and coffee. (Henderson and the Perimeter)
Altar Guild: group of nine individuals that are responsible for setting up for Sunday services and then clean up after the service.
practice Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and sing during the 10:00 a.m. service and special services throughout the year.
Lay Readers: assist with Sunday services. St. Stephen’s has a number of Lay Readers
Mothers’ Union: meet the last Monday of the month and are a Worldwide Anglican Women’s Organization.
Ushers: group of individuals that assist with seating, lights, offering and Eucharist “traffic”.
Thelma Wynne Sewing: A group of ladies meet on Thursday mornings (9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) to work on baby items for those in need. The group meet from February to April and many of them also work from home.
